Air Similan Unveils Its New Subsidiary, Air Similan Connect
Paris, December 14, 2025 – Air Similan today announces the official launch of Air Similan Connect, a new subsidiary designed to strengthen the French airline’s presence in the European leisure market. This strategic initiative aims to complement Air Similan’s existing offering while preserving the high standards of quality, service, and operational excellence that define the airline’s DNA.
Based at Paris–Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Paris–Orly (ORY), Air Similan Connect will operate on behalf of Air Similan with a proposition specifically tailored to leisure travel. The subsidiary adopts an accessible positioning, without compromising on comfort, passenger care, or the operational rigor that characterize Air Similan.
Aircraft operated by Air Similan Connect will feature a 100% Economy Class configuration, with a cabin layout optimized to deliver comfort, ergonomics, and efficiency across the short- and medium-haul network.
A Group-Sourced Fleet and a Phased Ramp-Up
In its initial phase, Air Similan Connect will rely on Boeing 737-800 aircraft drawn from Air Similan’s existing fleet. The first aircraft will be configured in a single-class, 186-seat layout, designed to maximize capacity while maintaining a level of comfort consistent with the Group’s standards.
This approach enables a rapid, reliable, and cost-efficient entry into service, while ensuring operational continuity.
Over the medium term, the fleet will be progressively supplemented with aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, supporting network expansion and capacity growth. This phased ramp-up will allow Air Similan Connect to adapt its offering to market demand while maintaining a high level of standardization and cost control.
Ten Initial Destinations from Paris–Orly
From the launch of operations on January 1, 2026, Air Similan Connect will offer ten European routes from Paris–Orly, combining major European capitals with highly attractive leisure destinations: Barcelona (BCN), Berlin (BER), Biarritz (BIQ), Faro (FAO), Lisbon (LIS), London–Heathrow (LHR), Milan–Malpensa (MXP), Naples (NAP), Rome-Fiumicino (FCO), and Venice (VCE).
This initial phase is designed to meet strong demand in the leisure and city-break segments, while ensuring seamless integration with the broader Air Similan network, particularly in terms of connections and connectivity.
The Air Similan Connect network is intended to be progressively expanded throughout 2026, with the launch of new European destinations and the start of operations from Paris–Charles de Gaulle, further strengthening the complementarity between Air Similan and Air Similan Connect across the two Paris hubs.
Strategic Refocus on Paris
At the same time, Air Similan announces the suspension of its Nice base, following more than five years of operations. This decision reflects a strategic objective to refocus operations around Paris, the core of the French airline’s network.
The launch of Air Similan Connect enables the Group to reaffirm and sustainably strengthen its presence in the Paris market, by offering a complementary and coherent proposition alongside Air Similan, while optimizing the allocation of resources and capacity.
A Consistent Experience and Optimized Connections
Air Similan Connect flights will operate under Air Similan flight codes, ensuring full continuity of the customer experience. Passengers will benefit from the same level of service and attention, in line with the Group’s standards.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the optimization of connections, both between Air Similan Connect flights and between Air Similan Connect and Air Similan services, to deliver a smooth and consistent end-to-end travel experience.
No Changes for Flight Crews
For crews, and pilots in particular, the creation of Air Similan Connect entails no changes to operating conditions.
Any Air Similan pilot will be able to operate Air Similan Connect flights, subject to holding the required aircraft type rating, thereby ensuring continuity, flexibility, and operational consistency across the Group.
