Air Similan took delivery on Friday, February 13 of its very first Airbus A350-900, registered F-MFXA. Named Toulouse, the aircraft pays tribute to Europe’s aviation capital—Airbus’ birthplace and a symbol of French aviation excellence.

As the first A350-900 in Air Similan’s fleet, F-MFXA features a special “1st A350” livery, marking a major strategic milestone in the airline’s continued evolution.

This initial delivery will be followed by the arrival of a second Airbus A350-900, registered F-MFXB, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.

A Phased Entry into Service

The aircraft will enter commercial service on Monday, March 2. Initially, the sole A350-900 will operate domestic flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to Nice (NCE), Marseille (MRS), and Toulouse (TLS).

This initial domestic phase will support flight- and cabin-crew training and a gradual ramp-up on the new aircraft under optimal operational conditions.

Starting March 29, with the launch of the Summer 2026 schedule, Air Similan will deploy its A350-900 on its first medium- and long-haul routes to Atlanta (ATL), Montréal (YUL), Mumbai (BOM), and Tel Aviv (TLV).

The airline will also inaugurate a new route between Paris–Charles de Gaulle and New York–Newark Liberty (EWR) operated by the Airbus A350-900, complementing its existing service to New York–John F. Kennedy (JFK) operated by the Boeing 777-300ER.

A Pivotal Step in Fleet Strategy

The arrival of the Airbus A350-900 represents a foundational milestone in Air Similan’s fleet modernization roadmap.

Built with next-generation composite materials, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, and benefiting from optimized aerodynamics, the A350 delivers lower fuel burn, extended range, and a significantly reduced noise footprint.

These capabilities enable Air Similan to operate long-haul services with greater efficiency—particularly on the longest intercontinental routes—while delivering an experience aligned with professional standards through a modern, ergonomic, and highly connected cockpit.

A Next-Generation Cabin Designed Around Comfort

For its Airbus A350 aircraft, Air Similan has selected a cabin concept built around comfort, space, and the latest international standards. The 277 seats will be distributed across three cabins, each with its own identity and distinct travel experience.

Business Class

Air Similan’s Airbus A350 aircraft will feature 44 Collins Aerospace Horizon seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring every passenger enjoys direct aisle access and a privacy door for an elevated level of personal space.

This latest-generation seat converts into a true fully flat bed nearly 2 meters long and includes extensive personal storage, including an individual wardrobe.

Each seat also offers a 21-inch 4K touchscreen display, wireless charging, and customizable ambient lighting, positioning this cabin as the long-haul premium flagship of Air Similan’s fleet.

Premium Economy

Premium Economy will feature 21 Collins Aerospace MiQ seats in a 2-3-2 configuration.

This fully redesigned product stands out with a wider seat, increased recline, an ergonomic leg rest, a 15-inch 4K display, and generous personal space.

Economy Class

Air Similan’s Airbus A350 aircraft will be equipped with 212 Recaro CL3710 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.

These latest-generation seats—slimmer yet more ergonomic—offer optimized legroom, 13.3-inch 4K displays, and USB-A and USB-C ports at every seat.

Renowned for its advanced cabin pressurization, improved humidity levels, and notably low noise, the A350 delivers meaningfully enhanced comfort, even on ultra-long-haul flights.

A Completely Reimagined Inflight Entertainment Experience

With the introduction of the A350-900, Air Similan is also launching a new onboard entertainment standard, designed to deliver a seamless, modern digital experience built for the future.

The aircraft is equipped with next-generation Wi-Fi connectivity, providing significantly higher throughput than today’s typical standards. Passengers can browse, work, communicate, or stream content under optimal conditions—even on the longest intercontinental flights.

In addition, every seat will feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to pair their own headphones or personal headsets directly—no cables or adapters required—regardless of cabin. This enhancement significantly improves comfort and freedom of use across the IFE experience.
