Discover Air Similan’s First Airbus A350
Toulouse, December 8, 2025 – Air Similan marks a major milestone in its development with the factory rollout of its very first Airbus A350-900, assembled on the production lines in Toulouse (France). This inaugural aircraft, registered F-MFXA, is the first of an order that includes two firm A350-900 along with two additional options, ushering the airline into a new long-haul era. This addition reflects an ambitious modernization strategy, a significant enhancement of the passenger experience, and a strategic strengthening alongside the four Boeing 777-300ERs already in service.
A New Long-Haul Flagship for Air Similan
The arrival of the Airbus A350-900 represents a pivotal advancement in the airline’s fleet strategy. Featuring a design that combines next-generation composite materials, Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, and optimized aerodynamics, the A350 offers lower fuel consumption, an extended range, and a substantially reduced noise footprint. These capabilities enable Air Similan to operate its long-haul network with enhanced efficiency, particularly on its longest intercontinental routes, while ensuring exceptional immersion thanks to a modern, fully connected cockpit.
Natural Synergy with the Boeing 777 Fleet
The integration of the Airbus A350 will seamlessly complement the airline’s four Boeing 777-300ERs. Together, the two aircraft types will strengthen fleet flexibility by enabling a precise adjustment of capacity based on route demand, an optimized network, and a reduction in operating costs.
This balanced combination will allow Air Similan to operate a versatile, efficient, and future-ready long-haul fleet.
A Next-Generation Cabin Designed for Comfort
Air Similan has selected a cabin concept for its Airbus A350s centered on comfort, space, and the most recent international standards. The aircraft will feature 277 seats across three cabins, each offering its own identity and a distinct travel experience.
Business Class
Air Similan’s Airbus A350s will be equipped with 44 Collins Aerospace Horizon seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving every passenger direct aisle access and a sliding privacy door for optimal discretion.
These next-generation seats convert into fully flat beds nearly two meters long and include multiple storage areas, including a personal wardrobe.
Each seat is also equipped with a 21-inch 4K touchscreen, wireless charging, and customizable ambient lighting, making this cabin the premium showcase of Air Similan’s long-haul fleet.
Premium Economy
The Premium Economy cabin will feature 21 Collins Aerospace MiQ seats in a 2-3-2 layout.
This redesigned product offers a wider seat, greater recline, an ergonomic leg rest, a 15-inch 4K screen, and generous personal space.
Economy Class
Air Similan’s Airbus A350s will be fitted with 212 Recaro CL3710 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.
These next-generation seats, slimmer yet more ergonomic, provide optimized legroom, 13.3-inch 4K screens, and USB-A and USB-C outlets at every seat.
Renowned for its advanced pressurization, improved humidity levels, and exceptionally low noise environment, the A350 ensures a noticeably enhanced comfort level, even on ultra-long-haul flights.
A Completely Redesigned Entertainment System
With the introduction of the A350-900, Air Similan is also unveiling a new onboard entertainment standard, designed to deliver a seamless, modern, and future-ready digital experience.
The aircraft is equipped with next-generation Wi-Fi connectivity, offering significantly higher bandwidth than current market standards. Passengers can browse, work, communicate, or stream content under optimal conditions, even on the longest intercontinental flights.
Additionally, every seat will feature Bluetooth audio connectivity, allowing passengers to pair their own headphones without cables or adapters, regardless of the travel class. This feature substantially enhances ease of use and comfort when interacting with the IFE system.
“Toulouse”: A Tribute to the Heart of French Aviation
This first Airbus A350 will proudly bear the name “Toulouse”, honoring the city that embodies French aviation excellence. As the European capital of aerospace, the birthplace of Airbus, and the center of countless technological breakthroughs, Toulouse symbolizes innovation, expertise, and aviation heritage.
By naming its first A350 after the city, Air Similan pays tribute to this historical legacy and its essential role in the advancement of global aviation.
A Major Step Toward the Airline’s Future
“The factory rollout of our first Airbus A350 marks a pivotal step in the transformation of our fleet. This new aircraft will allow us to deliver an even more realistic and immersive flying experience while reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainable innovation”, the Air Similan team states.
This first aircraft will soon enter its testing and integration phase ahead of its official delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
